On Saturday Aug. 20, the North Fork Valley Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation held its sixth annual fundraising banquet at Heritage Hall at the Delta County Fairgrounds in Hotchkiss. The banquet was a huge success.

Approximately 150 attendees to the banquet enjoyed a prime rib dinner catered by Zack's Bar-B-Q of Hotchkiss and participated in the silent auction, general raffle and live auction. Many banquet attendees went home with high quality firearms and hunting and outdoor equipment from the banquet, generously donated or underwritten by local individuals and businesses.

The purpose of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is to permanently protect crucial elk winter and summer ranges, migration corridors, calving grounds and other vital areas and to secure and improve hunter access throughout elk country. The local North Fork Valley Chapter is dedicated to this mission and would like to extend its thanks to the many individuals and businesses in the local community who made donations and made this year's banquet a success.
