Emma Edna Neil of Eckert died July 19, 2017, at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Interment will follow at Eckert Cemetery.
She was born June 18, 1945, to Joseph and Mercedes (Martin) Neil in South Dakota. She spent her childhood and attended school in Eckert and Cedaredge. She graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1963 and remained an active member of the Class of '63.
Mrs. Neil worked for Montgomery Ward and Hamrick and Associates before starting her own bookkeeping business.
She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Bethel Church in Eckert and enjoyed playing the violin and trombone, singing in the church choir, knitting, playing sports and games with nieces and nephews, and watching March madness and baseball.
She is survived by one brother, Edwin Neil; two sisters, Marian Weltch and Myrneta Schroeder; six nieces and nephews; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
