The Daddy Daughter Dance at Bill Heddles Recreation Center was held Saturday, Nov. 12. Over 300 attended this memorable event, making this year's dance the largest in 21 years.
The City of Delta and recreation center staff would like to thank Altrusa International of Delta for amazing creativity in decorating the basketball gym for the club's annual Sugar Plum Festival. They put up a theme of a Mid-November's Night Dream - The Enchanted Forest, and left the decor up for the Daddy Daughter Dance. The evening included dancing, trivia, snacks and a random drawing for the king and princess. Congratulations to Jasmine Ealey and Steve Olson (grandfather), the 2016 winners.
Thank you to the Key Club students from DHS who volunteered and again all Altrusa members who helped make this a great event.
At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
