Cleland Park is the place to be Thursday, with the Altrusans' annual kickoff barbecue, a beer garden, family movie and a glimpse of some classic autos.
The Altrusans' kickoff barbecue is a longstanding tradition which features brisket, pulled pork, cowboy beans, pasta salad, rolls and dessert for only $12 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. You can also enjoy an ice cold adult beverage from 4B's Brewery.
Tickets for the barbecue are $12 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. They can be purchased at the event or in advance at Ruby's Flowers, 755 Main Street, or the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce, 301 Main Street.
After dinner, visit the classic autos provided by members of the Ute Trails Car Club.
Then, grab your lawn chair or spread out a blanket on the grass to watch "Rio" with your friends and family. Members of Grace Community Church will also be serving cotton candy, popcorn and popsicles.
Delta Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) will be holding its annual fireworks show at Confluence Park on Wednesday, July 4, having received approval from Delta City Council at the council's June 5 meeting.
The DVFD has 28 volunteers and expects to have eight to 10 firefighters from Cedaredge join them this year.
