Where can you go to watch dirt bikers maneuver their bikes around obstacles, catch two nights of mutton bustin', cowboy up for Rodeo Night, ooh and ahh at a fashion show, pick your favorite at an antique tractor pull, scoot your boots to some live music, watch a tail waggin' good dog show, get your hands on some great food, grab the perfect spot to watch a parade, and maybe meet the queen? Why the Delta County Fair, that's where! With all this fun you just gotta be there!
The fair features fruit, flowers, foods, photography, 4-H, FFA and lots of fabulous fun. Don't miss out on the Heritage Hall exhibits -- from art to ceramics, pantry store goods to quilts, veggies to crafts -- there is sure to be something you will enjoy. And if you enter an exhibit, who knows? One of the winners may just be YOU!
Touring the exhibit hall and fairgrounds during the fair is free. Tickets are required for evening events, which include a 4D barrel race on Wednesday, a ranch rodeo on Thursday, live music on Friday and exciting rodeo action Saturday. Bring a few extra bucks for a giant turkey leg or an ice cold lemonade. What's a fair without a delicious treat?
And you won't want to miss the fair parade in downtown Hotchkiss Saturday morning at 10.
After the parade, head to the fairgrounds for a barbecue served by the Delta County Livestock Association. There will be live entertainment, kids' games and vendors in the park. The annual market livestock sale takes place at 2 p.m. The final evening of the fair is packed with the Flower Motor Company rodeo, JC Propane team roping shoot-out finals, 4D barrel racing finals, mutton bustin' and the crowning of the fair royalty.
After a pancake breakfast Sunday morning, exhibitors will load up their animals and head for home. All exhibits and premium money must be picked up by noon.
