The first of three Downtown DeltaFests scheduled this summer takes place Thursday, June 1, from 5:30 p.m. to dusk. Main Street will be closed to the public late Thursday afternoon to allow vendors to set up between 3rd and 5th streets. Moto Mayhem motorcycle races will set up between 5th and 6th. A kids' section, complete with a bounce house, foot darts and a llama, will be set up on 3rd Street. Avalanche String Band will provide live music from a stage that will be set up on 4th Street facing east.
Avalanche String Band is a three-piece band from Grand Junction that plays progressive bluegrass as well as traditional bluegrass.
This event is sponsored by the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce. Executive director Darnell Place-Wise is excited about the number of vendors who will be participating in the Downtown DeltaFests on June 1, July 6 and Sept. 7.
