Lifetime Delta resident Floyd Douglas Proctor died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016. He was 82.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Burial will follow at Delta City Cemetery.
Mr. Proctor was born in Cory June 29, 1933, to Manuel and Ruby (Dor-sey) Proctor. He grew up in the Delta area and attended school in Delta.
On July 3, 1952, he married Jeannie Robertson in Paonia. They were married 55 years before her death Aug. 29, 2007.
Mr. Proctor worked for the City of Delta and for Delta County, maintaining roads. He worked as a trapper for many years.
He enjoyed oil painting, dancing, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his sons, Floyd "Sonny" Proctor and Robert (Ramona) Proctor, all of Delta; his daughter, Barbara (Pat) Carter of Grand Junction; a brother, Cecil (Rosalie) Proctor of Ephrata, Wash.; two sisters, Maxine Egbert and Charlene Harmon, both of Seattle, Wash.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Proctor was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie Proctor; and a sister, Opal Harmon.
