Longtime Powderhorn resident Flynn Mangum died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at his home in Delta. He was 67.
At the family's request, no services will be held at this time.
Mr. Mangum was born in Bryan, Texas, Nov. 10, 1948, to Lavar and Esther (Rochelle) Mangum. He spent his childhood in Pueblo and Gunnison, graduating from Gunnison High School in 1967.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
On March 30, 1969, he married Roberta Cadwell in Gunnison.
Mr. Mangum was a member of Gunnison Elks #1623. He enjoyed hunting, being in the mountains, going to his grandchildren's sporting events, visiting with family and friends, and helping his brother-in-law check cows.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Roberta Mangum of Powderhorn; a son, Justin Mangum of Gunnison; a daughter, Charity Cotton of Delta; two brothers, Bryan Mangum of Washington and Lynn Mangum of Arizona; four grandchildren, Lane and Shaylee Mangum of Gunnison and Clayton and Amanda Cotton of Delta.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
