At the Jan. 10 meeting of the Town of Paonia Town Board of Trustees, the board held an hour-long executive session to receive advice from town attorney David Marek specific to former town manager Jane Berry.

The executive session, which was not open to the public or the media, included a conference call with attorney Steven Dawes with Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA), the town's pool insurance provider.

Upon reconvening the regular board meeting, Mayor Charles Stewart was asked by the KVNF reporter if Berry, who submitted a resignation letter to the town in July, was suing the town, to which Stewart replied, "No comment."
