Former Paonia High School standout volleyball player McKenna Hartigan is seeing lots of playing time as a freshman for Chadron State's Eagles. Hartigan recorded 11 kills against Westminster this past weekend and now has a total of 59 kills on the season as a freshman.

Hartigan plays middle blocker for the Eagles and brings great credentials to Chadron's program. She was an All-State Colorado player for Paonia and has played in state volleyball competition all four years while attending Paonia High School.

The talented athlete led Paonia with 242 kills in 2016 and finished with 551 career kills. She ended her high school career with 176 blocks and 116 aces.

Hartigan competed in the Colorado Coaches Girls Games and was a valuable member of Paonia's basketball and track and field teams as well.

Hartigan's parents are George and Lee Hartigan of Hotchkiss.
