Delta County Memorial Hospital physical therapists Linda Bull and Brooke Loucks are offering free exercise classes in Cedaredge as part of a community outreach initiative.
Linda Bull has been the instructor of the "Use It or Lose It" class for the past nine years. The class is free with donations accepted for the use of the Stolte Shed. Exercise class participants have donated a total of $1,700 in the past six months to the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society for the use of the Stolte Shed. This class is held Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. and is open to the public. People interested in attending may join in at any time as classes are ongoing and held year round.
According to Bull, during the first six months of 2015 over 1,800 people have attended the "Use It or Lose It" class.
A new "Tai Chi - Moving for Better Balance" class is being jointly taught by physical therapists Brooke Loucks and Linda Bull for 12 weeks. This class is full, but another class is planned for 2016. This class is also free, being sponsored by DCMH and some grant monies from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Thanks to an anonymous donation of a defibrillator, a new class on how to use a defibrillator is being organized for October to be taught by Delta County Ambulance District EMTs. This class already has some 35 participants signed up to attend.
For additional details on any of the classes please contact Linda Bull at 856-8587.
