The Plant & Dig Club of Cedaredge met on Nov. 18. Joan Kennen graciously filled in as hostess after a family emergency prevented our original hostess from providing our meeting destination.
New officers were elected at this meeting and are as follows: co-presidents, Waynella Gonzalez and Gloria Good; second vice president, Judi MacKendrick; secretary, Lisa Joss; treasurer, Barb Klein. Our club will prosper and grow under the leadership of these dedicated individuals.
The scheduled program was to have been on hummingbirds with each member relating information and personal experiences with these fascinating flying friends. Unfortunately, our meeting took so long that we were unable to fit in this program. It will be rescheduled next year.
Our December meeting will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, at R.J.'s Restaurant for the annual Christmas luncheon and gift exchange. Every member looks forward to this gathering each year because we have so much fun! And certainly, the friendship we share with each other not only at Christmas but throughout the year is the most precious gift we give each other.
Our members wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. May we all plant many seeds of happiness, laughter and love that will grow into memories in the years ahead.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
