The Plant & Dig Garden Club of Cedaredge gathered on Oct. 21 at the home of Barb Klein, who presented a program on "Dry Gardening." She had created a beautiful display in a corner of her patio depicting an oriental-themed area with gravel, bamboo structures, stones and a charming small cast-iron pagoda. As with all oriental gardens this area exudes peace and tranquility. Barb explained the techniques she used in its creation and answered questions that members asked. Thank you, Barb, for sharing your knowledge, creativity and building skills with us.
Club members gathered on Oct. 5 for a cleanup session at the Pioneer Town flower bed site which is now in its winter mode. A week later, some members also did preliminary work on a new xeric bed at Pioneer Town, readying it for finish work next spring. This will create yet more beauty to the area out the west entrance of the Welcome Center. Members stay busy with their community activities and enjoy giving back to our community with projects such as these.
The November meeting will be held on Friday, Nov. 18. The program will consist of members bringing information, pictures and stories about hummingbirds.
If you enjoy gardening, friendship and community commitment, we invite you to join our club. For more information call 856-3897 or 970-901-9360.
