The Plant and Dig Garden Club of Cedaredge finished out 2015 with a Christmas gathering that everyone enjoyed. The food was outstanding, the gift exchange full of good fun with laughs galore. It topped off a year of learning, friendship and community service that will set a high standard to match in 2016.

Plans are underway for informative programs which will include one on water rights, a presentation on hummingbirds, an in-the-garden demonstration on the many uses of ground cover and a program on dry gardening. Some field trips are in the offing, as well.

Our goals are to increase our knowledge of every aspect of our gardening world, have fun doing it, and give back to our community through volunteer service at Pioneer Town and Horizons Care Center.

The next meeting, set for Jan. 15, will be devoted to finalizing plans for the coming year and to talk about members' goals for the upcoming gardening season.

We invite all women who are interested in gardening, friendship and community service to join the club. Call 856-3897 or 970-901-9360.
