Laughter, Christmas greetings, the camaraderie that is felt between valued friends. These gifts were shared by members of the Plant and Dig Garden Club as they gathered on Dec. 14 at R & J's restaurant for our annual Christmas celebration. After each had eaten a delicious lunch served by the competent staff and prepared for us by superb chefs, we proceeded with our gift exchange.
Garden-related items were opened, exchanged as the fun proceeded. After one gift had been "exchanged," the member whose gift was taken drew another gift, only to find that it was exactly the same as the gift that had been "stolen." That brought much laughter from everyone present. A good time was had between friends; good memories were made. And each and every one of us thanks the staff at
R & J's restaurant for providing a wonderful setting, good food and great service for our gathering.
Our upcoming January meeting is an important one, for club members will discuss not only our individual plans for the 2018 season, but receive ideas about programs they would enjoy having implemented for the next 12 months. We will also set information for our annual booklets which will be distributed to members at the February meeting. It will be a productive, busy meeting.
A new gardening season will soon be upon us. All persons interested in joining our members as we proceed on our journey of learning, scholarship, community involvement and friendship are welcome. The club meets the third Friday of every month. If you would like more information, please call 856-7077 or 856-3897.
