Garry Lippard

Delta resident Garry D. Lippard died Aug. 12, 2017, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. He was 75.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Delta United Methodist Church. His ashes will be scattered at camp during elk hunting season in October.

He was born July 18, 1942, in Craig to Edward "Sam" and Maxine (Doak) Lippard.

Although he was a master plumber, he enjoyed being a patrolman, sheriff and a fireman. He served as a patrolman on the Craig Police Department, as a sheriff for the Moffat County Sheriff's Office and a volunteer fireman on the Craig Fire Department.

He also enjoyed being in the mountains, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, motorcross and teaching his grandsons the joy of the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Sherry; his 100-year-old father; sister; children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and extended family.
