Robert Eugene "Gene" King died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. He was 86.
He was born in Scott City, Kan., July 25, 1930, to Virgil and Pauline (Cwicig) King. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. King was retired from Coors Distributing in Golden. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, horses and his dogs, Freckles and Dakota.
He is survived by his son, Louis (Laurie) King; daughters, Katherine (Carl) Nichols and Sammy King; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Donna Powell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet; two children, Danny and Allan King; grandson, Jason Schaefer; three brothers; and two sisters.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, Sept. 8, at Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors at 1 p.m. Viewing is scheduled just prior to the service at noon.
Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors.
Leaf Glimpse, 27, of Delta was reportedly caught in the act of a break-in at a home on 2050 Road, Delta, at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3.
The break-in was discovered by a contractor who was hired to make repairs while the property owners were out of town.
