George Ward Lindley of Cedaredge died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. He was 82.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at New Hope Evangelical Free Church in Cedaredge.
Mr. Lindley was born in Atlanta, Mo., Feb. 22, 1934, to Emery and Vera (Tolliver) Lindley. He spent his early childhood in Atlanta. When he was 7, his family moved to Monte Vista.
On March 1, 1952, he married Doris "Dody" Sowell in Colorado Springs.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dody Lindley of Cedaredge; a son, Kurt (Vikki) Lindley of Cedaredge; three daughters, Cindy (Bill) Kehmeier of Eckert, Pam (Gerry) Briscoe of Wasilla, Alaska, and Carol (Chann) Fogg of Cedaredge; a brother, Ken Lindley of Eckert; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
