Organizations of all kinds along with local businesses, families and individuals, are invited to enter the first annual Military and First Responders Parade in Cedaredge on Saturday, July 2.
The parade starts at 11 a.m. along Main Street, followed by activities in Town Park including a cookout hosted by the Surface Creek Valley Lions Club.
The family-oriented activities will continue until 2 p.m., according to organizers.
The parade and park events are in honor of local first responders, service members and military veterans. Sponsors are the Cedaredge Chamber of Commerce and the Fellowship on the Rock Church.
Registration for the parade is being taken at the chamber office, 856-6961. All are welcome to watch the parade and then take in the fun in the park.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
