Cedaredge resident Gladys Rozella Bertram died April 20, 2017, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. She was 91.
At her request, no services will be held.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1926, to Archie and May (Wilson) Himes. She spent her childhood on a ranch near Cedaredge and attended Sand Creek and Cedaredge High School.
On August 29, 1942, she married George Bertram in Spartanburg, S.C. They shared 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bertram worked as a bank teller for 23 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, elk hunting, gardening and working on her cattle ranch.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Paul) Thompson of Cedaredge; two grandchildren, Larry (Joy) Thompson of Eckert and Brian (Kelli) Thompson of Grand Junction; two sisters, Marge Bertram of Cedaredge and Ruby Radebaugh of Vernal, Utah; sister-in-law, Peggy Himes of Grand Junction; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; two brothers, Archie and Bud Himes; and a sister, Carrie Thompson.
