The 16th annual Float and Fest hosted by the Western Slope Conservation Center will be held June 4. This long-standing tradition provides a unique opportunity for locals and visitors to float along the North Fork of the Gunnison River, so come make a splash with family and friends! This year's theme for the Float and Fest will be Hawaiian, so dress to impress.

The float trip put-in will be at the Paonia River Park and take-out will be at the Delta County Fairgrounds in Hotchkiss. The Conservation Center will provide shuttles back to the Paonia River Park for a wonderful lunch provided by Delicious Orchards and a festival to keep the party going!

The festival is new to our tradition and it is free for everyone, including those who did not float. There will be live music, outdoor games, local vendors, educational tables provided by local environmental nonprofits and government organizations and more.

The Conservation Center is looking for volunteer boat captains for the float trip and local vendors for the festival. If you are an experienced boater interested in floating the North Fork or a local vendor looking to get your name out in the Western Slope, please let the Conservation Center know.

To register or find out more, go to http://theconservationcenter.org/river-float-and-festival/or call the Western Slope Conservation Center at 527-5307 with any questions.
