Gregory Fast

Gregory Scott Fast of Somerset died April 4, 2017, at his home after a courageous fight with cancer. He was 59.

He was born in France on Nov. 2, 1957, to Wilbur and Marie Rose Fast. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver and worked as a cook at Copper Mountain and in White Bird, Idaho, for numerous outfitters. He also helped build the Eisenhower Tunnel. He owned many mining claims and prospected for gold, mainly in Idaho.

Mr. Fast enjoyed spending time with family and his companion Rowdy, and listening to music. He was self-taught on the harmonica and guitar and performed in small venues in Idaho. He became a Christian in 2016.

He is survived by his aunts, Aggie Behm and Martha Fast; uncle, Norbert Fast; and numerous extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Rose Memorial Parlour & Cremation Center in Montrose. Cremains will be held for a private celebration in the near future.
