God's angels called for him much sooner than we planned.
Gregory Lee Rule was born to David and Danita (Lemon) Rule in their Chevy Nova in the winter of 1981 between Baggs, Wyo and Craig, Colo. He was the fourth child, with three brothers at home. When Greg was four, the family returned home to Delta, Colo. Greg graduated in 1999 from Delta High School.
He graduated from Mesa State College Magna Cum Laude in 2005 with a degree in Criminology and Sociology and was going to become a lawyer, but he chose family instead. After graduation, he moved with his expecting wife and son Ethan to North Carolina, where Hailey Ranae Rule was born on Oct. 29, 2005. Then in May of 2006, he moved with his family to San Diego, Calif., where Alyssa Lynne Rule was born on Nov. 18, 2006. Two bicoastal baby girls and a Colorado mountain son completed his family who he loved so much, was so proud of, and worked so hard for. He moved with his family back to Delta in 2008, where he proudly continued working as a miner, after mining in California.
Gregory Lee loved spending time with his little girls and his son. He loved them with all his heart. He played kickball and had tea parties with his little girls, and he helped them with their bicycles and anything else they needed. He played video games with his son, watched the Broncos, movies, and cartoons with all three. He took them to the library regularly, as books were so important.
He was a wonderful Daddy, family member, friend, and just a loving person. He is sorely missed.
He is survived by his parents, David and Danita Rule; three children, Ethan Ryan, Hailey Ranae, and Alyssa Lynne Rule; two brothers, David Matthew Rule and Chad Nathaniel Rule, along with his wife, Frenses and new baby girl, Madison; three grandparents, Crystal Pipher, Lowell Lemon, and Patsy (Shipman) Cairns; two uncles, Wayne Rule and Roger Rule; two aunts, Sharon Dixon and Katie (Bob) Nehring; and seven cousins, Vandy and Sonya Rule, Cora and Kelly Dixon, and Jamey, Jeremy, and Josh Nehring.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arlie Rule, and his brother, Brendon Loren "Brent" Rule.
We will share a potluck and memories starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Crawford Community Methodist Church. Afterwards, there will be a celebration of life for the inurnment of Greg's ashes (with his brother Brent) in the Crawford Cemetery on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m.
