Paonia resident Harold E. Ellena died June 25, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 75.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
He was born July 21, 1941, to Frank and Mary (Vodapich) Ellena in Paonia. He spent his childhood and attended school in Paonia.
On Sept. 18, 1965, he married Mary Redenschek in Paonia.
Mr. Ellena was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia and a member of the Thunder Mountain Wheelers. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, traveling to Arizona in the winter, hunting, fishing and visiting with family and friends.
Mr. Ellena is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ellena; and his sister, Mildred Branscon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
