Lifetime Delta County resident Harold Webb died at his home in Delta Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016. He was 92.
Public visitation and viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 21, both at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.
Harold Clark Webb was born in Eckert April 22, 1923, to Wilbur and Bessie (Johnson) Webb. He spent his childhood and attended school in Paonia and Delta.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in both the European and the Pacific theaters during World War II.
On Oct. 11, 1972, he married Sondra Czapanskiy in Delta.
Mr. Webb was the postmaster of the Delta Post Office for 36 years.
He was a former member of Rotary Club, worked with young people through AWANA for 20-plus years and was a water safety instructor and member of Grand Mesa Rescue Team. He was a member of the North Fork Snowmobile Club and enjoyed his dog, Princess, playing pinochle and building, teaching and flying radio-controlled airplanes.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Sondra Webb of Delta; his daughters, Janine (Michael) Sitz and Lynda Webb, all of Grand Junction; his sons, Bill (Lynette) Holt of Pueblo, Brad (Kelly) Holt and Don (Dee) Holt, all of Paonia; his brothers, Rufus (Lois) Webb of Delta, Robert (Judy) Webb, Norman (Marisa) Webb, all of Phoenix, Ariz., and Roland (Ann) Webb of Florence, Ala.; his sisters, Elnora Turner of Phoenix, Ariz., and Edith Kinder of Grand Junction; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
