Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma had the pleasure of helping member Miriam Hartig celebrate her 97th birthday. After Hartig blew out the candles on her cake, president Debbie Matteson presented her with a 45-year Delta Kappa Gamma membership pin.
Hartig had a long teaching career, starting out in a one-room school in rural McPherson, Kan. She then taught in Granby and finished out her career with Delta County School District. She resides at Crossroads Assisted Living, where Chi Chapter held its September meeting.
Delta Kappa Gamma is an international educational philanthropic organization. Chi Chapter includes teachers from Delta and Montrose counties. For more information about Chi Chapter, call 874-2824 or 275-0525.
