Delta resident Reigh Stoddard died Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 80.
A graveside memorial service was held June 27 at Cedaredge Cemetery, with Pastor Eddie Hollett officiating.
Helen Reigh Stoddard was born in Egnar, near Dove Creek, June 7, 1936, to Theo and Amy (Doyle) Robbins. She spent her childhood in Cedaredge and graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1954. After graduation she attended Airline Training School. She lived in Omaha, Neb., for three months.
She moved to Washington, D.C. in January 1955 and worked for the U.S. Navy for two years.
She married Richard Thompson April 22, 1956, in Cedaredge. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1974, in Delta. She married William "Bill" Stoddard on Nov. 17, 1999, in Delta.
She enjoyed making quilts and giving them away. She worked at Lincoln Elementary School for 11 years and at the Delta Library for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Stoddard of Delta; two daughters, Jill Hatten and Jennifer Ashby, both of Grand Junction; two brothers, Tom Robbins of Delta and Bob Robbins of Golden; a sister, Joyce Reusch of Cedaredge; two stepchildren, Mark (Donna) Stoddard of Delta and Terri Stoddard of Denver; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, a stepdaughter and a nephew.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
