There is nothing more satisfying and heartwarming than feeding a person who is hungry. As the Abraham Connection prepares to offer meals and shelter in its new building, the way meals are prepared and served will change from previous years. Those who are interested in having a hand in this mission by serving a meal to those in need are invited to a short informational meeting/discussion on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 6:30 p.m., at the Delta United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Anyone or group can serve meals -- churches and civic groups, businesses, youth organizations, families and individuals have all served in the past, and had a wonderful time giving back in this way. For more information on the meal program, or if you are interested in helping but unable to make the meeting, please call the Darla Volgamore at at 208-6338.
At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
