Herbert Hanley

Herbert Vincent Hanley died Aug. 21, 2016, at his home in Aguilar. He was 73.

At his request, no services will be held. There will be a celebration of his life in the near future.

Born on Nov. 6, 1942, Mr. Hanley was the second youngest of nine children born to Cecilia and James Hanley. He enlisted in the Air Force shortly after graduating from Delta High School and served four years. After working for the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver, he retired and moved to Aguilar.

He married Sally Pomeroy in 1966. He enjoyed flying airplanes, camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his four children, Christine (Steven) Dahl, Michael (Becky), Lori Sprecher and Brian; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; five brothers, John (Mae), Bill (Cathy), Joe, Jim (Jane) and Marty (Deborah); a sister, Kathleen (Marlyn) Dilts; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Bea; and a brother, Kevin.
