The boys' basketball team from Hotchkiss High School got another win in league play last week.
The Bulldogs beat Plateau Valley last Friday on the road 57-16 and upped their record in 1A/2A Western Slope League play to 4-2 and are 5-8 overall.
"The boys are working hard and are getting better every practice," Bulldogs coach Eric Hollembeak said.
Hotchkiss jumped ahead 12-4 after one quarter and then took a 31-4 advantage into halftime after holding the home team scoreless in the second frame.
Zack Allen led all scorers in the contest with 22 points. Clayton Oxford, the other half of the Bulldogs' 1-2 punch on offense, poured in 17 points for the winners. Hotchkiss kept up the pressure and took a 41-9 lead into the final quarter.
Gabe Rodriguez had six points in the win and both Sam Rodriguez and Jonathan Gonzalez scored four points for the Bulldogs.
Will Drbolav scored three and Eli Sawatzky made a free throw to round out the scoring for Hotchkiss in the win.
Hotchkiss hosted Paonia last night and then is at Caprock on Friday night.
Plateau Valley beat the Hotchkiss girls last Friday. Scores were not available at press time.
