The Hotchkiss volleyball team upped its record to 7-5 overall Friday with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-16) conference win at Vail Christian in Edwards. Hotchkiss hosted Vail Mountain Tuesday (results were not available at press time).
Hotchkiss is in fourth place in Max Preps 2A/1A WSL standings. It plays conference games at No. 3 Meeker (9-2, 4-0) this Friday, Sept. 29, and hosts Rangely on Tuesday, Oct. 3. At 9-2, 5-0, Rangely is in second place in the WSL.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
