On May 21, 2016, Laura Holland and Robert Burk exchanged marriage vows surrounded by family and close friends. The ceremony took place in the private courtyard of Milk & Honey on Larimer Square in downtown Denver. The ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing.
Laura is the daughter of Brenda and Tom Holland of Eckert. She is a 1999 graduate of Delta High School. After obtaining a law degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C., Laura did corporate law in New York City before returning to Colorado. Robert is the son of Jerry and Eugene Burk of Parker. After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Law, he served in the Navy as a JAG attorney, did a federal clerkship, and then did corporate law.
Laura is an attorney for the Social Security Administration. Robert is a partner in the Denver law firm of Tannenbaum, Trost & Burk. They live in the Park Hill area of Denver.
The seventh annual Eckert Crane Days, the annual viewing of the sandhill cranes migrating north from New Mexico through Colorado's West Slope, will be March 16-18. Representatives from the Black Canyon Chapter of the Audubon Society (BCAS) will be at the viewing site east of Eckert at Fruitgrowers Reservoir, 9 to 11 a.m. each day, to answer questions and provide binoculars and spotting scopes.
