The No. 3 Hotchkiss Bulldogs improved to 15-1 on the season after defeating Roaring Fork 15-3 last week.
Presley Pene and Mario Espinoza pitched the game for the Bulldogs. Pene went three innings, allowing three runs (two unearned) off four hits. He walked three and struck out four Roaring Fork batters. Espinoza hurled three innings as well, allowing one hit and striking out one in the victory.
Cole Carvill went 4-for-5 from the plate and scored four times for the Bulldogs. Chase Hiatt had two hits and four RBIs for the winners.
Hotchkiss was scheduled to play winless Rangely in a doubleheader last weekend, but the games were cancelled due to bad weather.
No. 3 will play No. 1 in the regular season finale on Friday when Hotchkiss hosts unbeaten Paonia.
