Hotchkiss Elks have impact in the community

By Press Release

The Hotchkiss Elks Lodge has put two international grants to good use in the community.

Beverly Clemmer reports that the $2,000 Gratitude Grant was distributed between three local organizations: S & B Quilting received $400 for its veterans quilt project; $300 to North Fork Soccer; and $1,300 to the North Fork Ambulance Association.

The $2,000 Beacon Grant was used to provide more than 200 food packages through the food bank.

Clemmer also noted that the Elk's Turkey Bingo at Thanksgiving and Christmas provided additional funds which enabled them to give out 40 food baskets.

"The Hotchkiss Elks is a giving group of dedicated volunteers," said Clemmer. "We do good for the community."
