Hotchkiss FFA Alumni vice president Jason Wrich awarded scholarships to two outstanding 2017 seniors. Lacey Rodriguez and Roggen Frick were awarded the Hotchkiss FFA Alumni Scholarship for $500 each and the Mopar Alumni Scholarship for $300 each.
The Hotchkiss FFA Alumni creates funding for these scholarships and leadership training opportunities for the Hotchkiss FFA Chapter and the FFA Alumni through the member auction dinner, the fish fry and summer concessions. The mission of the Hotchkiss FFA Alumni is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
