Hotchkiss' Bulldogs recorded wins over De Beque Jan. 14. The games, played in Hotchkiss, were wins for the girls, 52-46, and the boys, 72-39.

De Beque put up a first half fight, which netted it a 23-20 halftime lead.
Bulldogs' coach Hailie Taylor had the girls ready for second half play when they hit the floor for the third quarter. A 17-4 burst gave Hotchkiss a 37-27 lead with one period remaining in the game.
The Dragons regained momentum in the final quarter to outscore Hotchkiss 19-15 and a final score of 52-46.
Three players scored double-digit numbers for the Bulldogs in the game. Makayla Helm tossed in 13 with Carson Collins and Shay Glaser adding 10 points each.
Carson finished with 14 rebounds while Kaleigh Little snagged 12 carroms and Josie Hiatt another 11.
Hotchkiss 72, BHS 39
Hotchkiss (2-1, 7-3) was clearly in charge from the tipoff. A 25-10 first quarter had the Bulldogs playing well at both ends of the court.
After scoring 20 points in the second frame, Hotchkiss owned a comfortable 45-15 lead at halftime.
De Beque (1-3, 5-3 in 2A/1A WSL standings) had its best quarter, on offense, on a 15-14 surge in the third period. The final quarter was, once again, controlled by the Bulldogs, 13-9, for a convincing 72-39 win.
Hotchkiss had three players with double-figure scoring, led by junior Sam Rodriguez's 15 points. Close behind Rodriguez was Braxton Trujillo with 14 and Darrin Young with 13.
Hotchkiss will host Paonia's Eagles (4-0, 9-0), in girls' action, on Jan. 19 in a game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The boys take the floor at 7:30 p.m.
