Hotchkiss girls win 800 medley in Delta | Track, HHS

Photo by Wayne Crick Hotchkiss' Mae Anderson leads the pack on the first lap of last Saturday's 4x800 meter relay at the Delta Invitational meet. Hotchkiss placed fourth in the race with a time of 11:35.96.

A first-place finish for Hotchkiss' 800-meter medley relay team helped the Bulldogs capture seventh place with 43.5 points in the girls' team race. The winning time for Hotchkiss was 1:58.57.

The Bulldogs added 15 points with three fourth-place finishes by the 4x800 relay team, Mariah Griffin's 14:41.54 in the 3200-meter run and Jordan Tamayo's 1:10.68 in the 400m dash.

Sophia Schelle (200m dash) and the Bulldogs' 4x100 relay team finished sixth in meet competition. Margaret Parsons and Montrose's Bryce Gatt tied for sixth place in high jump competition.

Andi Todd scored a point for her eighth-place finish in the 400m dash.

Hotchkiss is set to host its annual Hotchkiss Invitational this Saturday, March 26, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
