The Town of Hotchkiss is working on its periodic update of the Community Master Plan, scheduled to occur in 2017. As part of that process, the Hotchkiss Planning Commission is seeking input on questions for an upcoming survey that will be used in determining what is included in that update.
In the past the survey has contained basic questions regarding where various land uses should be allowed, what is seen as the most positive aspects of living in Hotchkiss and where the town needs the most improvement. The planning commission is now asking for ideas for questions to be included in the survey. Citizens wishing to submit questions or ideas can drop them off at the clerk's office at Town Hall, email them to email@example.com or through the U.S. Postal Service to: Town of Hotchkiss Survey, P.O. Box 369, Hotchkiss, CO 81419.
The Planning Commission is also seeking a citizen to fill one vacant seat. Interested residents can submit a brief letter of interest to Mayor Wendell Koontz at Town Hall or by mailing to the above address. The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
