The Hotchkiss volleyball team will take a 9-10 overall record and a 6-6 record in the 2A Western Slope League into this week's district tournament at Grand Valley High School in Parachute. The record marks the Bulldogs' best win-loss record since 2009.

In their final match of the season the Bulldogs played to a 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16) loss at Plateau Valley (8-10, 4-7, 2A WSL). Hotchkiss had 20 kills for the match, with Carson Collins completing six kills in 11 attacks, and Fatima Rodriguez scoring a season-high five kills in 10 attacks. Ashley Ziemer and Elsie Mondoza-Vasquez each contributing three kills.

District 5 tournament play opens Friday (in Grand Valley) with pool play. Hotchkiss is seeded sixth and faces the winner of Tuesday night's pigtail game between Hayden and Caprock at 11 a.m. That winner faces No. 1 Rangely (12:30).
