Ina Jane Osborne died April 15, 2016, in Shandon, Calif. She was 94.
She was born in Lewiston, Mont., Sept. 7, 1921. The family moved to Round Valley, Calif., where she attended high school.
On July 30, 1941, she married Donald Osborne. They lived in Concord, Calif., before moving to Orland, Calif., in 1950. They operated a dairy farm until they sold it in 1971 and moved to Red Bluff, Calif.
After her husband died, Mrs. Osborne moved to Delta in 2005 to be near her daughter, Phyllis. She moved back to Shandon, Calif., in 2010 to live with her two brothers and a sister-in-law.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, church activities and spending time with her family. She was involved with several quilt clubs in the Delta area.
Mrs. Osborne is survived by her children, Phyllis (Robert) Wilson of Delta, Dale (Vicki) Osborne of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Todd Osborne of Atascadero, Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her caregiver and sister-in-law, Ethel Lindsey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Donna Armstrong; and three brothers, Philip, Kenneth and Wayne Lindsey.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Orland, Calif.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
