Renovations are nearly complete at the Needle Rock Brewing Company, where a grand opening celebration is being planned for Saturday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 11 p.m.
Where others saw a vacant building which had housed several failed restaurants, Sam Kimbriel saw one of the neatest buildings in Delta.
On Sept. 20, 2017, site reviewers from the trauma division of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment audited the Delta County Memorial Hospital trauma program. The reviewers toured the facility, interviewed staff and completed a thorough review of the processes used in the care of trauma patients.
After several postponements, a controversial application for a land use change at the former Bowie Resources, LLC, coal load-out site north of Paonia will come before the Delta County Planning Commission and Upper North Fork Area Planning Committee for review. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Energy Tech Building, 218 Fourth Street in Paonia.
At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
