This week's headlines

The City of Delta encourages property owners to participate in the 2012 sidewalk replacement cost share program. Through this program, interested property owners can replace hazardous and deteriorated sidewalks at half the cost.

Applications can be picked up at Delta City Hall or downloaded from the city website at www.cityofdelta.net. Completed applications should be turned in by the close of business Feb. 28.

Applications will be ranked based on the condition of the concrete and an on-site inspection by public works personnel. Property owners will be notified if they have been accepted into the program. The city will bid the project competitively and select the most qualified bidder. Each eligible applicant will be required to pay for half of the project prior to the contractor beginning work.
