On Nov. 17, the Migrant Council and members of the First Baptist Church of Delta shared Thanksgiving traditions with Karen residents. Formerly from Burma (also known as Myanmar), many of the Karen residents live at Alta de la Vista Montana housing unit in North Delta. Pastor James Conley asked a blessing on the food, and those gathered, in English, which was translated in Karen by Eh Moe. A team of six beautiful Karen girls danced, songs were sung and a student’s school assignment project was shared on screen. Many Karen came in native dress. See the complete story on page A3.
