The unemployment rate in the state of Colorado decreased one tenth of one percentage point to 7.2 percent from January to February. The last time the Colorado unemployment rate was 7.2 percent was February 2009.
In Delta County, unemployment increased slightly from 8.5 to 8.7 percent in February. The unemployment rate was estimated at 9.1 percent in Mesa County and 10.8 percent in Montrose County.
Statewide, the largest over-the-month private sector job gains were in professional and business services, leisure and hospitality, and trade, transportation and utilities. There were no significant over-the-month declines.
Over the year, the unemployment rate declined one percentage point from 8.2 percent in February 2012. The national unemployment rate declined from 8.3 percent in February 2012 to 7.7 percent in February 2013.blog comments powered by Disqus
