The Board of County Commissioners on Monday agreed to a planning department request to move forward with an administrative approval process for Fram America's exploration well application at a site north of Delta.
The proposed well will be a re-entry of a previous gas exploration well that was drilled in 2006 by another exploration company.
Fram will be using the same roads and well pad that were approved for use in the 2006 operation, and the site was vetted with a full county Specific Development process in 2006, the commissioners were told.
Granting the administrative approval allows the county planning department and representatives from Fram to begin working on a development agreement for the BoCC's consideration. That agreement will spell out in detail various aspects of the operation, including possible expansion with more wells in the area if Fram finds oil in the formations it is exploring.
According to a previous presentation made to the BoCC on the project, if successful, the company is considering multiple wells from single pad sites using directional drilling techniques.
The exploration seeks to tap private minerals beneath privately owned surface.blog comments powered by Disqus
