The U.S. Forest Service office on the south end of Delta's Main Street was evacuated late Thursday afternoon after a package was deemed suspicious in nature. The package arrived by mail and the writing seemed suspicious to staff.
They placed the package in a vault and alerted a USFS ranger, who notified the Delta Police Department. The FBI and Grand Junction Police Department also responded. X-rays revealed the package held Bic pens, not explosives or chemicals. The office re-opened Friday morning.blog comments powered by Disqus
