The Colorado State Patrol has identified the driver of a vehicle killed in a rollover accident on Highway 92 May 26. Frederick J. Lee, 59, of Grand Junction was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
He was eastbound on Highway 92 near milepost 39 at about 7 p.m. when his 2001 Honda Passport traveled off the right side of the road. Lee overcorrected and the vehicle began to rotate. The SUV traveled back onto the road and across both the westbound and eastbound lanes while continuing to rotate. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and rolled 1 3/4 times, partially ejecting the unrestrained driver. Lee was transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital where he died.
Alcohol and excessive speed are considered to be factors in the crash.blog comments powered by Disqus
