Kerry Donovan, a rancher, director of academics for Ski and Snowboard Club Vail, and a member of the Vail Town Council, has announced her candidacy for the Colorado State Senate, District 5. Sen. Gail Schwartz, who is faced with term limits, currently holds the seat.
Donovan's family has a long history throughout the Western Slope.
The Donovans have owned Copper Bar Ranch since the early '80s although the land's history extends back to the Homestead Act. The Copper Bar Ranch is a modest operation focused on proven homesteading practices.
"I was born and raised on the Western Slope and I want to make sure we protect our rural values and way of life. No person or political party has a monopoly on good ideas. And I am excited to meet with voters and constituents across the district to be a voice of reason for our families. I'm committed to protecting our land, water, and natural resources," Donovan said.
Colorado State Senate District 5 encompasses Chaffee, Delta, Eagle, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Lake and Pitkin counties.blog comments powered by Disqus
