Francis Koch, 79, of Olathe, was killed in a single vehicle rollover Wednesday, June 26, at approximately 10:28 p.m. Investigation by the Delta Police Department revealed the red SUV driven by Koch was traveling westbound on Highway 92 near Delta Timber Company when it drifted off the shoulder and returned to the road.
The SUV drifted off a second time, came back onto the road, crossed all four lanes, struck the curb on the south shoulder and rolled onto its top. The vehicle then hit a light pole and came to a stop on its top on the southeast side of the intersection at Crawford Avenue and Highway 92. Koch was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Two dogs in the vehicle were not harmed. Alcohol is not suspected and speed was not a factor.
Delta County Ambulance District, Delta Volunteer Fire Department, Colorado State Patrol, Delta County Sheriff's Office and Colorado Department of Transportation assisted the DPD at the scene.blog comments powered by Disqus
