The Draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) for Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area (NCA) and Dominguez Canyon Wilderness will be the topic of a public policy session in Room 234 at the Delta County Courthouse on July 31.
The 10-member Dominguez - Escalante NCA and Wilderness Advisory Council will meet for a scheduled three-hour session beginning at 3 p.m. to discuss biological systems and grazing with members of the public who are invited to attend.
The Draft RMP document has been released by the BLM for written public comment until Aug. 22. The Advisory Council will not take public comment, but the meeting is open for discussion and review of the Draft RMP.
The public's written comments on the Draft RMP must be sent to the BLM separately and directly.
People may call the BLM field office in Montrose or Grand Junction for specific instructions on submitting comments. The Draft RMP is available online by finding the BLM website and navigating to the Dominguez-Escalante Draft RMP web page.
The finalized version of the RMP will be the guiding document for management of over 200,000 acres of public lands for the next 20 years in the canyon country west of Delta.
The Advisory Council is a citizen group whose members were appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Interior, representing various public lands-user interests.blog comments powered by Disqus
